Welcome back as I peel back the curtain for you to get a good honest look at the inner workings of Aphotic Realm.
In the last edition of Beyond the Outer Realm, I had to announce our decision to close General Submissions. If you’ve been waiting to submit–stick with us we’ll be announcing a few things coming up.
Let’s dive into the announcements and talk about them a bit, shall we?
Dystopia
First and foremost, we’d like to thank all of you who contributed – authors, artists, and reviewers alike–to Aphotic Realm Magazine Issue 4: DYSTOPIA. This was the biggest issue we’ve ever put together, complete with stories, comics, reviews, artist showcases, and more!
And a BIG thanks to all who have purchased a copy already!
That said, let’s get to the nitty-gritty. Some of you may have noticed that DYSTOPIA is unavailable on Amazon at the moment. There are a few reasons why: We noticed that a few images/columns of text have shifted into each other. This was not something that was present in our initial proof copies, so we have contacted Createspace and have been working with them to figure out what happened to our document. In addition to that, while working with them, we caught a few minor mistakes of our own that we decided to take the time and fix.
These hiccups have forced us to rethink/restructure our design, copyediting, and proofreading processes – the future issues will be released with much more quality and efficiency.
With that said, we are confident DYSTOPIA will be available again in the next few days.
Again, thank you to all that have supported, bought, and contributed to the issue in any way. We cannot express our gratitude enough!
Issue 5 Theme

I started working on this one a while ago to make sure ELDRITCH comes together and I’m happy to say that Sidney Williams, author of Disciples of the Serpent: an O.C.L.T. tie-in novel, and John “HPLovecraft” DeLaughter, author of Night of the Kwatee, have already signed on to collaborate on this issue!
